Psychomotor Teaching Manual
This manual serves as the definitive guide for educators, therapists, and facility managers using Pedalo equipment. It bridges the gap between simple play and targeted psychomotor development (Psychomotorik).
Domain 1: Vestibular & Dynamic Equilibrium
Section titled “Domain 1: Vestibular & Dynamic Equilibrium”Focus: Inner ear stimulation, core stability, falling safety, and spatial orientation.
Pedalo® Classic & Combi
- Psychomotor Focus: Holistic gait coordination, ankle stability, anticipatory postural adjustment.
- Target Group: Ages 4+ (Classic) / All ages (Combi).
- Usage: 10–15 min sessions, 2–3x/week.
- Exercises:
- The Stork: Pause mid-pedal and hold balance.
- Blind Pilot: Ride with eyes closed (partner guiding).
- Combinations: Pair with Stelzen for a “Height & Depth” experience.
Pedalo® Rola-Bola Fun
- Psychomotor Focus: Hip-strategy balance (correcting balance from the hips), core strength, falling techniques.
- Target Group: Ages 6+.
- Usage: 10–15 min, requires spotting for beginners.
- Exercises:
- The Squat: Lower center of gravity while balancing.
- Ball Catch: Catching a beanbag while maintaining board stability.
Balancekreisel, Kreisel 1000, & Trimm-Top 380
- Psychomotor Focus: Rotational stability, vestibular tolerance, weight shifting 360°.
- Target Group: Ages 5+.
- Usage: 5–10 min (monitor for dizziness).
- Exercises:
- Orbit: Move the edge of the board in a circle without touching the floor.
- Statue: Spin fast, then stop and hold a pose immediately.
Wackelsteg, Balance-Stein, & Balancierteller
- Psychomotor Focus: Anticipatory balance (predicting surface movement), foot arch strength, proprioception.
- Target Group: Ages 3+.
- Usage: Part of obstacle courses.
- Exercises:
- The River: Step from stone to stone without touching the floor.
- Freeze: Stop in the middle of the Wackelsteg until it stops moving.
Pedalo® Pedasan
- Psychomotor Focus: Foot reflex zone stimulation, proprioception, posture alignment.
- Target Group: Ages 6+.
- Usage: 5–10 min.
- Exercises: Toe-Heel: Rolling using extreme ranges of foot motion.
Skaty
- Psychomotor Focus: Dynamic balance on wheels, steering via weight transfer (skateboarding mechanics).
- Target Group: Ages 6+.
- Usage: 10–20 min active play.
Balancewippe 380 & Einbeinstand
- Psychomotor Focus: Linear equilibrium (Front/Back or Left/Right), ankle rehabilitation/strengthening.
- Target Group: All ages (Rehab friendly).
- Usage: 3–5 min per leg/direction.
Kinderkarussell 500 & Rodeosell 500
- Psychomotor Focus: Intense vestibular stimulation, centrifugal force, social play (spinning each other).
- Target Group: Preschool/Primary.
- Usage: Playground or large gym area.
Rondolo & Twister 380
- Psychomotor Focus: Twist-based movement, core rotation, disassociating upper/lower body.
- Target Group: Ages 5+.
Balance-Bike & QU-AX Einrad
- Psychomotor Focus: Advanced dynamic equilibrium, spatial steering, perseverance.
- Target Group: Ages 3+ (Bike) / Ages 8+ (Unicycle).
- Usage: The “Graduation” tools of balance training.
Domain 2: Social Competence & Teamwork
Section titled “Domain 2: Social Competence & Teamwork”Focus: Communication, empathy, rhythm synchronization, and cooperative problem solving.
Sommerski (Summer Skis)
- Psychomotor Focus: Rhythmic synchronization, verbal cueing (“Left! Right!”), leadership vs. following.
- Target Group: Pairs or Groups of 4.
- Exercises: Silent Walk: Navigate a course without speaking (non-verbal cues only).
Laufendes A (Walking A)
- Psychomotor Focus: High-level trust, physics (leverage), group responsibility.
- Target Group: Ages 8+ (Requires 1 pilot, 4 pullers).
- Usage: 20–30 min (setup required).
- Exercises: The Egg: Pilot carries a sensitive object (e.g., spoon with ball).
Teamspiel-Boxen (1, 2, 3, 4move)
- Psychomotor Focus: Cognitive problem solving, fine motor regulation in groups, patience.
- Target Group: Classes divided into squads.
- Key Games: The Crane, Pipeline, Power-Band.
- Usage: Standalone social learning units (45 min).
Teamspiel Holzbahn (Pipeline)
- Psychomotor Focus: Flow, continuous attention, reacting to group speed.
- Usage: Pass the ball from gutter to gutter without it dropping.
Balance-Board Duo & Triple
- Psychomotor Focus: Mutual dependency, feeling a partner’s movement.
- Target Group: 2 or 3 children.
- Exercises: Mirror: Partner A moves, Partner B matches the tilt.
Pedalo® Sulki
- Psychomotor Focus: Role-play (Driver/Horse), push-pull strength, balance while moving.
- Target Group: Ages 5+.
- Exercises: Chariot Races or precision parking maneuvers.
Fun-Wipp Kids
- Psychomotor Focus: Weight equalization, cooperation to find “zero point.”
- Target Group: 2 Children.
Domain 3: Coordination, Rhythm & Body Awareness

Stelzen & Kiddy-Stelzen
- Psychomotor Focus: Courage, vertical balance, arm-leg coordination (cross-lateral).
- Target Group: Ages 4+.
- Accessories: Stelzenbacken for height adjustment.
- Exercises: Giant Steps: Longest stride possible.
Federbrett 500 & Pogo-Stick
- Psychomotor Focus: Explosive power, rhythmic bouncing, energy regulation (ADHD support).
- Target Group: Ages 6+.
- Exercises: Rhythm Count: Bounce to a beat (metronome).
Gymnastik-Reifen & BoCoStick
- Psychomotor Focus: Object manipulation, spatial awareness, rhythm.
- Usage: 10–20 min music-integrated lessons.

- Psychomotor Focus: Upper body strength, prone extension (posture), speed control.

- Psychomotor Focus: Wrist flexibility, focus, frustration tolerance.
- Origin: Rucksack “Kinder in Bewegung”
- Exercises: Left/Right: Performing the task with the non-dominant hand.
Cornhole Kids, Boccia, & Tischcurling
- Psychomotor Focus: Targeting, trajectory estimation, emotional control (winning/losing).
- Usage: 15–20 min games or tournaments.
Murmelbahn / XL & Kugelfuhr
- Psychomotor Focus: Construction planning, fine motor assembly, visual tracking, precision steering.
- Usage: Quiet corner activities.

2. Safety & Maintenance

- Monthly: Check wheel nuts on Classic/Combi, inspect ropes on Sommerski/Teamspiel, and check tire pressure on Balance-Bikes.
