Life Labs: Sensory Learning

At LearnCamps, we believe that true learning engages the whole body. Our “Life Labs” program consists of 10 specialized laboratories where students explore academic concepts through the five senses.

We organize our practical workshops around the five human senses to ensure a holistic learning experience.

Focus: Aesthetics, Design, and Physics.

Lab 1: Visagistik (Makeup Artistry)

The Syllabus
Color theory, skin tone analysis, symmetry, and professional application techniques.

The Science (Academic Connection)

  • Chemistry:
    Understanding pigments and skin pH.
  • Biology:
    Facial anatomy and physiology.
  • Psychology:
    Self-perception and non-verbal communication.

Lab 2: Visual Design

The Syllabus
Contrast ratios, visual hierarchy, digital composition, and UI/UX principles.

The Science (Academic Connection)

  • Physics:
    Light spectrum and optics.
  • Mathematics:
    Geometric ratios and proportions.
  • Technology:
    Digital tools and accessibility standards.

Life Labs are not just fun activities; they are the first step in our “School of Startups” methodology.

  1. Discovery Phase (Life Labs)
Students rotate through labs to discover where their natural interests and talents lie.

  2. Development Phase
They select one lab to “major” in, developing deep proficiency and foundational skills.

  3. Application Phase (Startup School)
Students take the skills learned in the lab (e.g., Essential Oils) and build a micro-business around them (e.g., a branded skincare line).

The skills learned here extend far beyond the workshop.

Cognitive Growth

  • Analytical Skills: Problem-solving through experimentation.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in measurement and execution.

Career Readiness

  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Understanding how to turn skills into value.
  • Adaptability: Learning through trial and error (Iterative Design).

“I never liked chemistry until I took the ‘Chemistry Through Food’ lab. Understanding why bread rises made the textbook formulas finally make sense.” — Sarah, Age 14

“The 3D printing lab wasn’t just about printing toys. It taught me how to think in three dimensions. I’m now using those CAD skills in my high school robotics club.” — James, Age 16
