Positive Interdependence
The success of the individual is tied to the success of the group. Members learn to support one another to reach a shared goal.
Collaborative learning transforms education from an individual pursuit into a shared adventure. At LearnCamps, we move beyond simple “group work” to foster true interdependence, where knowledge grows through interaction and diverse perspectives.
Why do we prioritize group learning? The benefits extend far beyond the classroom.
Not all group work is created equal. We structure our activities around these core principles.
Positive Interdependence
The success of the individual is tied to the success of the group. Members learn to support one another to reach a shared goal.
Individual Accountability
No “free riders.” Each student is responsible for a specific contribution and for mastering the material personally.
Face-to-Face Interaction
Real-time feedback loops. Students practice active listening, eye contact, and the nuances of non-verbal communication.
Group Processing
Reflecting on how the team functioned, not just what they produced. We analyze communication breakdowns and celebrate wins.
One of our most effective structures is the “Jigsaw” approach, which forces interdependence.

Long-term & Project Based
Quick & Dynamic
Disagreement is natural. We teach students a step-by-step process to turn conflict into constructive dialogue.
Prevention: Norm Setting
Before work begins, the group establishes “Rules of Engagement.” (Example:* “We critique ideas, not people.”)
Active Listening
When conflict arises, stop. Listen to understand the other perspective completely before formulating a response.
Identify the Shared Goal
Re-align the group by focusing on the common objective rather than individual egos.
Compromise & Consensus
Find a middle ground where all parties feel heard, or agree to disagree and commit to a single path forward.
We measure success through multiple lenses to ensure fairness and growth.
